Coerver Skills Sheet
Below is an attachment of Coerver Skills that was requested by a few. As you should know, make sure you are teaching skills that are AGE APPROPRIATE within your age group. For example, every Saturday the Tiny Kickers learn and practice the Pendulum, pull back, step-up, and Beckenbauer. These 4 are probably appropriate for the U6 age level as well.
After the initial introduction, demonstration, and practice of a skill, INCORPORATE them into games... Please for Pete's sake, DON'T DO Line Drills. The only thing I can say after all these years is that when I see a coach lining kids up and pushing them through cones, I laugh. It teaches nothing and makes practice boring. If you don't know many games that teach "skills" let me know. I have thousands of them. Coervers are the backbone to the success of skilled players. Coervers are why the Europeans are so much better than we are.
We will be having a clinic to teach you guys how to teach these to the little girls and guys. Some are difficult to read and understand to the extent of demonstration. Thanks for the interest.
